Throughout history, participating in exhibitions has been an important way for foreign trade export enterprises to explore international markets and obtain foreign trade orders. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, offline exhibitions were unable to take place. In order to do a good job in stabilizing foreign trade under the normal conditions of epidemic prevention and control, and to help foreign trade enterprises in our city find international orders, the 2020 Jinan Import and Export Commodity Cloud Exhibition - Nigeria Special Session, hosted by the Jinan Council for the Promotion of International Trade and hosted by Shandong Zhenghe International Exhibition Co., Ltd., was successfully held on June 10th, leveraging the "cloud" to achieve the dream of "exhibition".

Zhai Xudong, President of Jinan Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated that in 2019, the bilateral trade volume between China and Nigeria reached 19.27 billion US dollars, an increase of 26.3% compared to the previous year, ranking first among China's top 40 trading partners in terms of growth rate. Among them, Nepal's export volume to China increased by 43.1%. In recent years, China has become Nepal's largest trading partner. Jinan and Nigeria have been closely connected, and the bilateral trade share is constantly expanding. Last year, at the Shandong Friendship City Conference, Emir Muhammad Sanusi II of Kano Prefecture, Nigeria, visited Jinan to further strengthen the contact and communication between the two sides. This year, although the COVID-19 has seriously affected our economic and trade exchanges, it has blocked the continuous friendship between China and Africa and jointly built the great vision of the "the Belt and Road". Today, we are innovating our foreign trade cooperation model, allowing both China and Nepal to have face-to-face exchanges. We hope that both companies can reap full benefits and achieve win-win outcomes.

In his speech, the President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce, Toki Mabugongjie, stated that he is very grateful for the hosting of this cloud exhibition, which has built a trade platform for Nigerian and Chinese enterprises. It is also stated that as the capital city of Shandong Province, Jinan has numerous high-quality import and export enterprises. Shandong Province has held several Nigerian (Lagos) China Commodity Exhibitions in Lagos, Nigeria for 13 years, and its products are loved and welcomed by Nigerian companies and consumers. I look forward to meeting you at the China Commodity Exhibition in Nigeria (Lagos) in November after the end of the epidemic.

Enterprise promotion

It is the only professional automotive parts mall and overseas warehouse platform in China. Currently, it has overseas companies and warehouses in Nigeria, providing one-stop vehicle services. At the same time, relying on Quanli Heavy Distribution City to carry out global accessory foreign trade business.

"One-on-one" enterprise negotiation

This cloud exhibition will be held in three sessions, with exhibits covering multiple categories including automotive parts, food machinery, household appliances, traditional Chinese medicine health products, medical equipment and epidemic prevention products, textile and clothing, printing equipment, chemical pesticides, etc. In the first match, 19 Nigerian buyers including AFRICAN FARMER FOOD CHAIN LTD and 25 Shandong export enterprises including Yantai Leba Machinery Co., Ltd. and Changyi Shanyang Taifeng Textile Co., Ltd. arranged 65 one-on-one negotiations through precise matching. In the second Jinan special event, 11 Nigerian buyers including Medwise Tech Co., Ltd. and 21 Jinan enterprises including Shandong Xiaoya Group Home Appliance Co., Ltd. and Shandong Hongjitang Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. conducted 37 negotiations, with an intended transaction amount of 15.785 million yuan. The third round consisted of 15 negotiations between 5 Nigerian companies and 15 Shandong companies. The total purchase intention for the three events is 21.2052 million yuan.

An online exhibition with more buyers than suppliers

According to statistics, considering the timing and coordination effectiveness, 35 Nigerian companies and 61 Chinese companies actually participated in the one-on-one on-site negotiation process of the cloud exhibition. However, there are over 110 companies in the actual list of Nepalese buyers who have registered to participate in the exhibition. During the opening promotion stage, all Nepalese companies have also gone online to watch. Many companies that were unable to participate in the one-on-one negotiations have also asked our staff if there are any follow-up special matchups.

In order to better connect with enterprises, this cloud exhibition event was divided into three special sessions, which were held on June 9th, 10th, and 11th. During this period, we have repeatedly communicated with Nigerian buyers regarding their procurement needs; Repeatedly communicating with Chinese companies regarding export intentions; Based on industry intensity, screening and matching were carried out to achieve precise one-on-one docking of 117 sessions.

From offline to online, frequent "orders" from existing customers

In this cloud exhibition, many old friends who followed us offline also came. For example, Shandong Xiaoya Group, which has participated in multiple exhibitions with us, expressed during this cloud exhibition exchange that their company's products are very suitable for the Nigerian market and gave great recognition to the quality of the buyers at this exhibition. During the fifteen minute exchange, it was found that their products are very suitable for the needs of the buyers they have connected with, laying the foundation for future development in the African market.

A Shandong agricultural machinery and equipment production enterprise has achieved more substantial gains in this cloud exhibition event. Its products are very in line with the procurement needs of the Nigerian purchaser. In the subsequent tracking and understanding, the Nigerian purchaser intends to become an agent for their products in Africa and is discussing more details of future cooperation.

A paper raw material and equipment production enterprise in Shandong Province has reached out to a printing enterprise in Nepal during this event, and has expressed great purchasing intentions for printing raw materials and production equipment. We will report on the specific cooperation details in the future.

A food machinery enterprise in Shandong has established close contact with the local bread and baking association in Nepal, stating that it will further negotiate cooperation on bread and baking equipment and has a good intention of cooperation.

A pharmaceutical company in Shandong has established contact with a traditional Chinese medicine health enterprise in Nepal, and currently has email communication regarding cooperation on several health products.
